Тестовый образец относится к новой линейки моделей от Vertu, названной в честь пост-военного аэролайнера Constellation, что в переводе с английского означает "Созвездие". Кстати столь яркое название новой серии Vertu позаимствовано у одноимённого самолёта компании Lockheed.
Общеизвестно, что при разработке мобильных телефонов Vertu берет за основу телефоны от финской компании Nokia. Не стал исключением и Vertu Constellation Black. Новинка построена на базе платформе от Nokia, а в качестве пользовательского интерфейса выбран проверенный временем Nokia S40 UI.
Четырехдиапазонный мобильный телефон Vertu Constellation Black оснащён высококачественным LCD TFT дисплеем с технологией повышенной четкости Crystal Fine, который способен отображать 262 тысячи цветов, и имеет специальное сапфировое покрытие. Выглядит телефон очень солидно. Габариты Vertu Constellation не самые миниатюрные, но и большими их назвать нельзя (109x45x15.7 мм.). Можно сказать, что аппарат имеет оптимальный размер с точки зрения эргономики. Вес телефона достаточно большой и составляет 140 грамм, что объясняется добротностью цельнометаллического корпуса.

Vertu Constellation оснащён передовой системой воспроизведения полифонии от Yamaha. Мобильный телефон Vertu Constellation поддерживает такие беспроводные протоколы связи как EDGE, GPRS, а так же интерфейсы Bluetooth и USB.
Клавиатура Vertu Constellation Black не совсем обычна и имеет высококачественный механизм нажатия кнопок с подшипниками из драгоценных камней. Аппарат собран очень качественно, ничего и нигде не скрипит, такое ощущение, что телефон литой, а не собран из различных частей. Сразу в глаза бросается наличие на корпусе и внутри него большого количество винтиков. Так вот, это вовсе не декор, а самые настоящие винтики, обеспечивающие отличную жёсткость корпуса.
Конструкция крышки аккумуляторного отсека также достойна всяких похвал. Крышка прилегает очень плотно и фиксируется при помощи специального замка, для открытия которого в комплекте идёт специальный ключ, выполненный в форме брелка. Правда, этот замок очень удобно открывать обычной монеткой. Достаточно вставить её в прорезь круглого замка, расположенного в правой центральной части обратной стороны аппарата, и повернуть против часовой стрелки на 30-45 градусов.
Конструкции крепления для SIM-карты выглядит достаточно надёжно и представляет собой прорезь, в которую устанавливается карта и металлический ползунок для её извлечения. Необычно, но очень стильно выглядит отсутствие внутри аккумуляторного отсека каких-либо наклеек и тому подобных вещей. Вся информация выгравирована на металле, причем, очень аккуратно.
Описывать особенности меню думаю особого смысла нет. Как мы говорили выше в качестве пользовательского интерфейса выбран проверенный временем Nokia S40 UI. Единственное отличие интерфейса Vertu Constellation Black это немного другое графическое оформление. Познакомиться с ним вам помогут приведенные ниже скриншоты экрана.
Боковые торцы Vertu Constellation Black и его задняя часть, включая крышку аккумуляторного отсека, покрыты кожей ручной выделки. Надо сказать, что такое покрытие весьма удобно, т.к. при длительном разговоре пальцы, располагающиеся на кожаных вставках, не потеют и не скользят.
